2020

Holy crapola we are about to enter a new decade. This transition has got me thinking - what I have accomplished in the past ten years? What do I aspire to accomplish in the next ten? This morning I read through some of my posts from 2011 on this blog, and holy moly I was a mess. I am not entirely sure that I am more put together than I was then. However, I do think I have matured and have learned to let go and let God more than ever before.

In the past ten years, I have managed to:

  • Graduate from Towson University with my bachelor's degree
  • Graduate from Hood College with my master's degree
  • Move out on my own/live on my own (Eton Manor, Upper Rock, Laurel, Baltimore)
  • Buy my FIRST home
  • Get a Dog
  • Teach special education for ten years in the local public school system
  • Mentor teacher interns from Towson University, University of MD, Montgomery College and Johns Hopkins University
  • Teach a Graduate Level Course at Towson University
  • Buy my FIRST car
  • Travel Abroad
  • Run FIVE half marathons all over the country
  • Restore my Faith in Christ
  • Join a church home of MY choosing
In the next ten years, I hope to:
  • Meet my future husband
  • Get married
  • Buy a home together to start a family
  • Have kids
  • Leave teaching in the classroom; and become a teacher of adults
  • Build my savings
  • Pay off my undergraduate debt

I am so excited to enter a new decade; and I am so grateful for the lessons I have learned and growth I've experienced over the last one. God is SO good and his plan is so much greater than my own. Here's to ten years of walking in HIS purpose and trusting the plans God has for my life (even though I may have some of my own).
